I remember Ruffin having the problem of a 'magnetic sim' in one of his posts over at Crazy Town. The thread is here if you are interested.  Unfortunately it never got resolved because he got fed up with it and started a new game. At the time though, it seems there were some posts about it at MATY.

Hi Twallan,

here with a little request today Smiley

Would it be possible to add a 'sell all inventory items' option ? Obviously there a quite a few errors caused by too much stuff in ones inventory but it's really a pain to sell all if you have tons of it. Maybe it could even be by type.

Well I gave myself alot of lifetime aspiration points, then gave myself pretty much every lifetime aspiration possible.

As Figwit noted, when Ruffian ran into the same problem, it was originally suspected to be one of the life-time rewards that was acting up.  Maybe it was.  I'll have to try dropping all the rewards off the sim and see if he returns to normal.

Gender preference, max motives in the intermediate section, and used relationships on a sim to make her one of my male sim's romantic interest.

Could have had an impact.  Gender preference is simply a "yes/no" number though, and not a weighting value...  So having larger numbers has no real impact.

The process that is used to set Relationships is used extensively in StoryProgression, so if there was a bust, then all my sims would be acting stupid.

Used Edit in CAS, but didn't save him. I also used Dresser on a couple of my sims to change their looks.

Drat, I would have totally blamed that one if you had actually saved.

Used the test function in advanced a couple of times.

You used the "Test" interaction ?  I had to look up what that does:  It dumps a log of available job opportunities.  Gladly it is currently innocuous...  Past versions have outright deleted all the town relationships, and other stuff I've required for testing.

----

As for the rest, I cannot see how they would have impacted anything relating to autonomy.  I've used them myself with no adverse side-effects.

I remember Ruffin having the problem of a 'magnetic sim' in one of his posts over at Crazy Town.

Oh yeah, I vaguely recall that thread as well.  That was a long time ago now...  Pity there was no resolution regarding the issue, it would have definitely helped in this case.

only that sim and only when I go to formal...

Are we talking full "Edit in CAS", or simply the "Dresser" ?  Does the EA version of "Dresser" work properly (the one run from the dresser object) ?

How about a multi-selection window, similar to the "Transfer Item" window, that allows you to select multiple for sale ?

Twallan, having larger numbers for the gender preference weighting does have an impact on how your sim behaves and what he/she wishes for. The higher the number the more your sim will flirt with sims of their gender preference and also the more they will have wishes to see the other sim (hang out) or to even woohoo with another sim. If the numbers are at 0 or a little over, they will normally never flirt on their own (unless they have the flirty trait) and they won't have wishes to get romantically with other sims. I have tested out these numbers on my sims and have seen differences because of the number setting.

I will bow to your knowledge on this subject.

From my perspective, regarding the "Can Have Autonomous Romance" system, one needs only have a positive value for the game to allow the interactions.

However, it is entirely possible there is weighting involved deeper into the system...  I've never looked further.

I only started noticing it when I started using +2000 and -2000 as the numbers in my gender preference setting. Since using these numbers, I can't keep my active sims unmarried and without kids. I was wondering why even my loner and commitment issues sims kept wanting to marry and have kids and then I figured it out. When I lower that number I have less wishes and less actions for romance.

I've pretty much tested every option possible. Those are all the option I remember using.

Try this, go into "Edit Town" and evict the family, then move them back into their original home.

Had good results when I tried it...  The sims seemed to start acting normally after that.

Well I've already tried taking out every aspiration i've gotten, and they didn't change. I also moved into a new house as well, they didn't change there either.

The carpool seems to have been fixed since I moved into a new house, As far as I know anyways.

So you actually moved them using "Edit Town" ?  And not say via the Move Window available via the phone ?

Sure.

And with that I am concluding this Phase of SuperComputer, and looking this thread in preparation for the next edition.

Thanks. Cheesy
